The following charcoals I did in my early twenties. They're pretty damaged, charcoal all smudged. Would love to go back to painting. My love is photography, flowers especially. Someday might try painting some of my flowers.
My daughter did an abstract a couple of days ago. Don't normally like that kind of art but her's had so much emotion, very powerful. She was angry and frustrated at the time but to me is a very positive painting.

My mom, who hates to read, is almost finished reading Crisis of Conscience. She couldn’t put the book down. Slowly but surely she is walking away. Thankfully she never believed that only witnesses would be saved. I will post our journey at a later date. It may give others hope that it can be done.
At the moment I am rereading 30 Years a Watchtower Slave by William Schnell. He helped form the structure of the organization back in Germany. I highly recommend it.
I’m reminded of a job I had many years ago at a radio station. We were a dime a dozen yet without us the station would not have been able to function. But as you said, at least you get paid for your services. We could also freely leave at any time without guilt.

Purps: Thanks so much for the wonderful youtube links. I personally don't think many of these people don't appreciate good music. It may well be that they are in such a hurry to get to work that they don't allow themselves the pleasure to stop and listen. It's a very sad comment on North American society especially.
I agree that there are many people that judge you in the way you're dressed. I'm sure many of us have experienced going into a store dressed in jeans and being ignored, falsely thinking that you couldn't possibly afford to shop there. I feel more sorry for these judgemental people; that they can't see beyond the clothes, and maybe see a very interesting, talented and/or loving person.
Music is such a wonderful thing. It's one of the things I am so thankful to my mom for; an appreciation and love for classical music.

Our tree isn't up yet because we always get a real tree. This is our tree from two years ago. It will pretty well look the same this year.

we (gf and i) went to see a presentation of handel's messiah.

A@G: You may not be aware of Him but God does love you.
If there is a God or not, there is suffering in this world. We have created this mess. We have all asked the question why God allows suffering. As an atheist do you have the answer to why there is suffering? Will this world just continue down this path, or are we going to eventually evolve into kinder, more loving people? Maybe it might become less kinder and loving? Does the process of evolution care one way or the other, if we become more caring or if we even survive?
For me atheism is not an option. It makes much less sense to me than a God that is a Creator of this universe. We may not be able to understand His ways but I trust that He knows what He is doing.
